So I disembark from my 24 hour flight from Sydney (you can read my review of the Qantas flight from Sydney to London here) and have to transfer terminals at London Heathrow (which is so not fun) and race over to Terminal 5 to catch my connecting flight to New York (JFK).
I was a tad exhausted and finally clear security to find myself in the British Airways Concorde Room for a little rest before my next flight.
I love the Concorde Room for its serenity, private spaces and great selection of wines and spirits – its almost akin to an old private club than an airline lounge.
The lounge has an expansive terrace which overlooks the tarmac. The terrace gets me every time! I just love kicking up my heels and enjoying the view of the gorgeous tarmac and all those cute planes zooming in and out of Heathrow.
Cabana & Elemis Spa
Thankfully I have reserved a spot at the Cabana (The Concorde Room have these cool private rooms with a small sofa bed, table, TV and Ensuite) to relax and before my next flight.
After a little relaxation, I then head-off to have a spa treatment from Elemis. I opt for the lovely facial called
“the Aviator” which helps ease the skin after a long flight.
Private Dining Area
Although I had a lovely brekkie on my previous flight, I was feeling a little peckish and helped myself to some breakfast in the Private Dining Area (which is oh so stylish and provides an intimate area for one to chill and they have some pretty decent food).
Today I have the Kippers with a poached egg on the side. It is nicely done with the strong flavours of the fish flowing over. I also have a little coffee to wake-me up.
Finally the boarding call chimes and I am off to the gate for my flight into New York.
