So its my final few days in London and I am staying at the Conrad London, St James Hotel. I arrive early and a wonderful girl at reception (Silvy) sorts out my check-in. I have booked an Executive Room, but unfortunately its not available yet as the prior guests hadn’t yet checked-out, so she handles my bags and ushers me into the Executive Lounge to chill while to room is being prepared.
Eventually I get my keys and this is the room.
Executive Room
There is a work desk in the middle dividing a mini living area and the bedroom. It is such a spacious and beautiful room, I just want to stay indoors for the next couple of days!
The bed is oh so plush and comfortable!
The TV is suitably placed to watch a movie in bed! I use it to watch Bloomberg (oh how boring of me)!
The mini bar is well stocked and I am a sucker for those mini whisky bottles.
A complimentary fruit plate is brought into the room – c’mon focus on fruit and not the cute girls on the magazine cover please!!
Bathroom
The bathroom is quite large with a deep soaking tub and rainforest shower area.
I fall in love with the tub immediately! It’s so beautiful and there is the trademark plush cotton bathrobe for you to wrap yourself in after the bath.
There are gorgeous amenities from Aromatherapy Associates which I form an attachment to almost immediately!!
There are lovely bath salts and minerals as well to help you draw a bath!
There are a wide array of other ancillary amenities to suit any traveller.
Executive Lounge
The Executive Lounge of this hotel is amazing! Its well presented with lovely sofas and chairs for you to chill during the day.
The business centre is also a must for workaholics like myself!
The Boardroom is just oh so beautiful and elegant.
Afternoon Tea
The lounge has a wonderful selection of sandwiches and cakes for afternoon tea.
Happy Hour
During happy hour there are some lovely snacks and canapes along with a selection of wines, beers and spirits.
The Cheese plate is quite amazing!
Canapes – Smoked Salmon and Caviar, Goats Cheese Vol-au-vent and Duck Terrine
The drink selection is quite extensive…
Breakfast
In the morning there is the choice of breakfast in the lounge or the restaurant downstairs… I choose the restaurant.
It’s a buffet so I plate-up some Scrambled Eggs with Smoked Salmon to start.
I pair it with some tea (I love the grand silver teapot) and some carrot juice in a little beaker
I finish-off with some waffles with nuts and maple syrup!
Finally my trip is over and I have to check-out and depart from the hotel. It’s so sad. It such a lovely hotel with some amazing spacious rooms and a lovely Executive Lounge. Their happy hour canapes and drinks are one of the more generous offerings out there. The hotel is immaculate and the staff are just superfriendly and helpful to ensure my stay was as smooth as possible. This is probably a new favourite of mine when I find myself in Ole’ London town!
The Conrad St. James looks amazing indeed. I really like the design of the rooms with the little seating area and the bed divided by the television! An amazing idea!
Yeah it’s such a lovely. They recently took it over from the Intercontinental
That makes sense! I was whether the InterContinental in the area has been fading away!
