About

Life is always about the journey not the destination!

So first of all thank you for stopping by my blog.  I hope you’ve enjoyed reading it.

I thought it would be good for us to get acquainted, so here are a few things about me & let’s get to know each other….

Things about me

I am a: boy (Just imagine Peter Pan… who never grew up and loves flying).

I am in my: late 20s / Early 30s.

I live in: Sydney, Australia.

My motto is: fly early, fly late, fly often, fly always.

My favourite wine is: Salon Cuvee ‘S’ Le Mesnil or Château Mouton Rothschild – Premier Cru Classé.

My favourite cities are: Monte Carlo (Monaco) and London (United Kingdom) – Sorry Sydney you didn’t make the cut.

My favourite restaurant is: Nobu – One of the few restaurants I have given the perfect 10/10 score.

My favourite bar is: Claridges Bar in London.

My favourite hotel is: W Barcelona.

My favourite cocktail is: the Serendipity from the Ritz in Paris.

My morning routine is: a flat white coffee, vegemite toast and reading the financial news (it’s not that interesting).

I have my eggs: poached (of course) with salmon and a good smothering of hollandaise sauce please.

My ideal lunch is: an inner city location on Friday afternoon with white table cloths, carefully decantered wine, a quality eye fillet steak and close business associates.

I take my photos with: a Sony A7II or my iPhone.

My first pet was: a goldfish… and it died.

I avoid: swimming in the ocean because of sharks… hence all those cool infinity pool snaps.

My biggest nightmare is: missing my flight.

My first kiss was: at a European ski resort.

My love interest is: my beautiful fiancé – I recently got engaged!! (check out our engagement video diary here)

If I don’t succeed the first time: I change things and I try again. It works all the time except for sky diving.

My favourite piece of clothing is: a Top Hat – yes I am quite eccentric and I wear it all the time.

I am lost without my: passport and frequent flyer cards.

My favourite board game is: Monopoly… I would always go after Mayfair and Park Lane and build the hotels.

My favourite saying is: “I skate to where the puck is going to be, not to where it has been.” By Wayne Gretzky.

My favourite high school subject was: economics… I know you may find it boring but give it a go.

My song is: Come Fly with Me by Frank Sinatra (c’mon it suits me).

If my life was a movie it would be: Up in the Air.

The History

So now that you know a little about me, let me share how Life of a Travel Czar came about. I started traveling (on a regular basis) about 10 years ago and I felt from that moment that I was made to be in the sky. If I had a free weekend I would just hop on a plane and fly to a destination for no particular reason and then fly straight back within the space of a few hours… just for the thrill of it.

Apart from having to explain to Customs and Immigration staff at various airports why I was staying in a particular location for such a short period of time, I couldn’t think of a more enjoyable way to spend my spare time.

These trips grew into a hobby and now whether it’s the indescribable joy of being on a plane for endless hours, amazing dining experiences, tasting vintage wines or being curled up in a plush hotel bed waiting for the sun to rise… it’s what I do and love – it is the art of travel and fine dining.

The Blog

The aim of my blog is not to offer travel tips or tell you how your holidays should be planned. We are all different and have a variety of tastes and preferences, so I don’t believe in rules or rigid templates.

My dream is that by sharing my experiences, it will elicit something deep inside of you; to write your own story, to build a collection of experiences and to venture beyond your borders. Life is a journey and I am sure you’ll discover all the best things in life along the way.

Let’s Stay in Touch
